Actress Morgan Fairchild, who has been active in supporting more women in politics for years, says in addition to Hillary Clinton, there is a growing list of rising female stars in D.C.
"It's great. And some of the women that are coming along now that really have just jumped in feet first and really making their mark in the Senate, Kirsten Gillibrand [D-N.Y.], Elizabeth Warren [D-Mass.], you've got different ones that are really getting out there and taking on some heavy issues as opposed to sort of meekly sitting in the back benches for a couple of years to get their feet wet," Fairchild said Friday on MSNBC's "Jansing and Co."
She said the women "jumping in feet first" helps them get more leadership roles.

Singer and actor Lenny Kravitz says while the election of President Barack Obama did not mean there was no longer racism in America, and his movie "The Butler" comes out at an interesting time for race relations.
Speaking to MSNBC "Morning Joe" co-host Willie Geist, Kravitz was asked about the election of President Barack Obama, and the idea that a "magic wand" had been waved and America was past race.
"It just isn't so, but I think a lot of people wanted it to be so. And at the time I was touring in Europe, and that was the question I got every day when I was being interviewed: 'So America is not racist anymore,' and that's not the fact," Kravitz said.
